*  On September 23rd and 24th I had the amazing opportunity to meet the famous Robin Long of Robin Long Photography, whose photography work simply ROCKS the universe (seriously).    As I expected the workshop was fantastic. I, and I know other attendee’s have learned so much from Robin. She shared so many tips and tricks, answered all of our questions and showed something that I think a lot of people are missing these days. Passion. You can simply tell by just watching her that she’s so passionate about what she does. It’s so inspiring. I haven’t learned everything, but I’ve learned enough to give me a leg up. Thanks so much Robin for giving me that extra push and for boosting my confidence!

*  Robin’s workshop was amazing and inspiring! I came away from it feeling like I really can make my dreams a reality! She was so warm and open, I never felt like I was asking too stupid a question or too personal. I love her work and I can’t think of a better person to learn from! Included with the workshop is a swag bag of goodies, including a nest wrap and flipbook that is a great illustration of so many ways to pose a baby! She also showed us her own post-processing workflow and photoshop actions. I can not recommend this workshop enough! I learned so much and met some amazing photographers! Thank you Robin!!

*  I can’t believe it’s been a month since I attended the Purebaby Workshop in NYC (September 2011)!  What a wonderful experience it was.  After following Robin’s work online, it was great to meet her in person and see her in action. I am not a professional photographer, but wanted to attend a workshop to learn some techniques to take pictures of my own baby, as well as those of family and friends.  I also wanted to see if newborn photography was something I could pursue down the road.  I chose Robin’s workshop over the others for 2 main reasons:

1) I LOVE her style!  She is true to the “PureBaby” name – her approach really lets the beauty of the newborn shine, rather than being overwhelmed by props or backdrops.  2) I had sensed she was a savvy business woman and that I could learn a lot about the business side of things from her.  The workshop confirmed that; Robin really delivered – she shared her techniques for posing, calming and soothing, post processing, as well as tips for dealing with clients and vendors.  If you are passionate about newborn photography and have the opportunity to attend one of Robin’s workshops, I highly recommend that you do.

I attended the workshop of Robin in Rye, New York and had such an amazing experience. Who knew that you can actually bond with your colleagues within such a short period of time? The workshop was great. Not only does Robin hold a huge amount of knowledge and information…the really great thing is that she is willing to share it with you. You can ask her anything and she will do the best to give you the answer you are looking for. It is amazing when you see how she handles the newborns and interacts with the parents. She is extremely calm, passionate and explains every step she is doing to the workshop attendees. Getting all these ‘hands on’ information was priceless! But it didn’t stop there. After the actual posing sessions Robin opened up about marketing, pricing, client interaction, proofing sessions, and so on. And to top it all of we went through an entire editing process and were able to see first hand how an SOOC turns into on of the amazing newborn image we all know. Oh…and did I mention the swag bags? That alone was worth the trip. So many useful goodies and a posing flipbook that Robin designed especially for her workshop attendees. So if you ever get a chance to attend one of Robin’s workshops…go for it. It’s worth every penny.

I learned how to prop the baby correctly, how to work with the parents, how to work with the picture in post production and lots, lots more! I would suggest this workshop to ANYONE who is planning on taking photographs of a newborn baby. In fact, I would LOVE to take this workshop again, just to soak it all in in one more time!! Robin Long is super sweet and patient ~ a great teacher and a great photographer!!

*  I really had a blast at the Pure Baby Workshop in Rye NY. Robin is a wonderful teacher. She speaks clearly, walks you thru each step, and is aware of the entire class and that everyone can see and have a turn. I liked that she had in cooperated the hands on techniques, and went thru the entire session as if it was one of her own. From beginning to end, even her post processing. The swag bags were killer. If my husband had gotten a bag full of goodies like that last Christmas we would probably be having our 4th child right around now! lol (jk) No but really, I was so psyched. A prop junkie’s dream. One of the best items in there was her FLIPBOOK to transitional posing, which you can only obtain from going to the workshop. I adore it! I actually used it in a session the other day, and while posing the baby it’s nice to have it right there to help. Especially with the newborns hand and feet placements in case I have a brain freeze. I find myself doing that often, I think hmm what shall I do with him/her next…..but now, the guide it right there to give me some ideas of transitions, and make things that much easier.   I heart Robin, I heart Pure Baby, and would most definitely do it all again.

*  Robin’s workshop is by far a must attend for those wishing to learn more about newborn photography. The hands on experience and Robin’s step by step posing makes this workshop the best by far!  Her posing guide that she gives to each attendee alone, is worth attending for.  I loved that the class was small which allowed for Robin to answer any and all our questions, yet still have time to give us plenty of time shooting.  It was so helpful to meet with her in person to not only discuss how she poses, but to answer questions such as where she buys her supplies and how she processes her images.  Thank you Robin for putting on such a helpful and worthy workshop!

*  I was fortunate enough to attend a workshop in March 2011.   I loved every minute of it.  Robin was an open book and explained her newborn technique/process from start to finish.  I learned a lot about controlling the flow of my sessions.  It was wonderful to meet Robin and be able to watch her work  and I loved being able to meet the 7 other photographers who attended with me.  It’s always nice to make new photographer friends :)   I would highly recommend her workshop to all photographers who would like to specialize in newborn portraiture.  Whether you are new to the game and just starting out or are very comfortable with your own newborn work already….I think it is a beneficial investment for anyone who wants to fine tune their newborn skills.

*  The 1:1 mentorship was worth every minute.  After six hours of solid instruction, I was able to do hands-on posing myself, choose the poses I wanted to practice and even pick the set series and props.  Robin is a fantastic teacher, and even carried through in following days, providing additional feedback after your first real-world independent shoot.  I’d recommend her to anyone!

*  Robin is awesome.  She is very easy going and makes learning fun and positive.  I feel like some other photographers could be potentially intimidating, but with Robin I felt like I was learning from an old friend, even though we just met.  Robin also gives you an opportunity to pose a baby on your own with her assistance as needed.  This is not something that is always an option at other workshops.

The small class size helps you also be able to interact with other attendees.  I can’t wait to get home and practice what I learned!  Your workshop is so awesome, I don’t have enough room on the paper!!

* I had the pleasure of attending a workshop with Robin Long during March 2011.  Robin truly has a gift of working with newborns as she is so patient and gentle in nature.  During her workshop she was an open book and clearly explained all the technical aspects of newborn photography as well as the skills that are required to soothe newborns and obtain those sweet newborn poses.  Robin was a wonderful teacher and very easy to talk to.  I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone who is serious about creating beautiful newborn imagery.

*  Overall I really enjoyed this workshop.  It helped me to fine tune some things for my business.  Networking with other photographers with the same passion was great too!  Robin was very patient, knowledgeable, helpful and kind!  All my questions were answered without hesitation and nothing was off limits.  I think it was a good investment and would recommend it to others.

*  Robin Long and her Pure Baby Newborn Workshops are great! She is technically saavy, but even more, she is so amazing with the newborns! Her artistic vision and her attention to detail make for beautiful, memorable portraits. She shows you all her tricks for posing, and calming and soothing baby, as well as some post processing too. She is so open and friendly, and loves to share in your success. This workshop is time and money well spent!

* I was privileged enough to get to spend a day shadowing Robin, working along side of her during a newborn session.  The information I gained far exceeded my expectations!  I not only got to see her work with the newborn (posing, props etc.), but she also shared with me all the less obvious secrets she has acquired over the years.  As an amateur photographer, I left with an incredible amount of new information to apply to my future photographic ventures.  Robin is a very graceful teacher, and I felt completely comfortable shooting with her…whether you are new to photography like myself, or looking to add newborns to your repertoire, I would absolutely recommend investing in a mentoring session with Robin Long.  She will NOT disappoint!

* I attended the workshop with Robin Long in Portland, OR.  I would say that it was a mini vacation to get away and learn about something that I love and that is newborn photography.  She was very down to earth and made me feel very comfortable, so therefore I could ask whatever questions I needed to ask.  Since the workshop, my photography style has improved dramatically and my newborn photography makes Mom’s cry.  Or at least, that is what they tell me.  I learned everything from exposure, white balance, newborn posing, post-processing, marketing strategies, soothing techniques and more.  And even better, I learned all of Robin’s little secret’s that you will never learn unless you have taken the “Pure Baby” workshop.  I would recommend Pure Baby to any professional or ametuer photographer.  She will make you feel comfortable either way.
