Oh sweet and adorable Gia came to the studio for her photos at only 8 days new! What a gorgeous little girl with all her beautiful hair. She had the cutest little cry that I’ve ever heard from a newborn!

NAPCP National Association of Professional Child Photographers Award

When I entered the NAPCP International Competition this year, I knew it was going to be a tough one. Highly talented photographers are abundant and awesome images would be entered. So needless to say, I am completely humbled and thrilled to say I won First Place in the Newborn Division! I was even more thrilled to see which image won. Little Ben was such a sweet little guy at his session and when I captured this image, I was thinking about how cute it is when babies do what babies do. I truly love capturing the raw and unposed images as much as I do the curly, squishy posed images. All of them have their place and connection, but when I was looking through my images and deciding which ones to enter, this one spoke to me . Babies are precious miracles from God and I wanted to capture a moment where he was saying “Hello World” by his great big yawn.

Thank you to my client and friend, Melinda, for bringing Ben to me that day and allowing me to photograph his first few days of life. Newborns are my passion like a breath of fresh air. A moment we should all capture in photographs to be cherished a lifetime. All my children are grown now and I’m thankful for the actual photographs I have to look back on their younger days….Cherish every moment ..the new, the in between, and the old. They are your family…they are your life.
