“When knitting hats I get to combine these forms of expression in the photographs of newborns who wear these hats, and in the hand spun yarn from which the hats are made. The designs are intentionally kept simple yet elegant, to permit the focus to remain with the baby. The hats add an accent of colour and texture to increase interest ever so slightly, and to bring together the background color and the subject, as the eye of the viewer seeks out the matching or contrasting colors. As well as, and perhaps most importantly, I hope each hat makes the beautiful newborn just that tiny bit more “adorable”.
