Can you believe WPPI 2013 is almost here?
If you haven’t been to WPPI before, you’re going to LOVE it! A full week of learning for photographers jam packed with a three day expo with all the newest technology and photography products you can get your hands on! Lots of booths give out tons of free stuff, like tote bags, coupons, keychains, buttons, stickers, notebooks and you name it! Every year there’s something new and exciting to look out for!
The classes offered at WPPI are everything from business courses, to pricing strategies, lighting, posing, inspirational and just all around packed full of learning opportunities for everyone! Make sure you’ve signed up ahead of time for the platform classes, as they do fill up quick! You’re allowed to pre-board for 5 classes, but if there is availability during the conference, you’ll still be able to get in to some. The popular classes fill up ahead of time tho, so make sure to get your favorite! It’s probably too late for some to get in now, but if you didn’t get a class you want, make sure to get there early and line up. If there are seats available, they’ll let you in first come first served.
Put on your walking shoes cuz you’re going to be walking all day long!! It’s about a 10-15 minute walk from the lobby of the MGM to the conference halls, so make time for that when planning for your classes. Don’t forget your badge! Make sure to have that around your neck every day before you leave your hotel room because you won’t get in without it! Take a snack with you to class, along with either a notebook and pen, or your iPad. Take notes and if you do carry your camera with you, take a pic of the screen if you can’t write or type fast enough when a speaker is giving their presentation.
Bring business cards! Some classes and booths will have drawings and you’re going to meet some great new friends and you want them to remember you!
